The Sweet Pea Project is a group dedicated to brightening the lives of children in need. We are a quilting group with skills ranging from beginners to experts. If you've ever wanted to learn to quilt, and love helping children in need, this is the group for you. We make quilts for the children who transition through the Rebele Family Shelter on River Street. We meet on the second Saturday of each month in the Youth Room (entrance on Melrose), from 9:00 to 4:00. You can join us for all or part of the day. Whatever amount of time you have free, is wonderful. Bring a sack lunch if you plan on being there through the lunch break. We laugh, giggle, discuss books we are reading, and maybe even get in a little sewing! This is a very fun group. Please join us. If you have questions, contact Jeanne Baker at 423-9368.
Two of nine quilts, recently created, that were donated to the Rebele Homeless Family Shelter. Over the years many such quilts have been made and donated to the shelter. They are much appreciated by the families who pass through there, as tokens of loving care and stability in lives that too often have been marked by change and upheaval.
